Watersports Experience Session with Encompass Training

Get ready for one of two exciting watersports experience at the beautiful Woolladon Lake, Meeth, offered by Encompass Training as part of Hatherleigh Festival 2026!
We are running two sessions this year, this Wednesday evening session could be great for those who can’t make an afternoon session due to work or school. This session will be limited to 10 places so book your tickets below to avoid disappointment (10% off if you book 4 or more places).



Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or trying it for the first time, this fun-filled session offers the chance to enjoy paddleboarding, canoeing, and kayaking on the serene lake.
Meeting Points & Times:
- Hatherleigh Community Centre: pickup at 6.15pm (transport provided) or meet at Meeth nature reserve main car park: 6.30pm
- Return to Meeth car park at 8.45pm or Hatherleigh Community Centre at 9pm.
Session outline:
- Short minibus ride from Meeth car park down to Woolladon Lake.
- Get kitted out with wetsuits, buoyancy aids, and helmets (sizing up will be done on arrival).
- Male/female changing areas – these are rustic changing areas.
- We will see what everyone has a preference for and split into groups for two of the following activities: kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding.
Pre-event Information:
- Wear swimming wear if you can – this speeds up getting ready.
- Bring: towel, trainers which will get wet in the lake (not flip flops/crocs), warm clothes and dry shoes for afterwards, drink/food, plastic bag for wet swim wear & wet trainers, sun cream/hat.
- Bring any necessary medication – inhalers etc.
- Come prepared for all weathers
If you have your own wetsuit and would like to wear it then please do bring it. Only buoyancy aids and helmets provided by us are permitted to be used.
