Joel Munday: Solo Violin Recital

8 July @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

We are delighted to welcome local young violinist Joel Munday to Hatherleigh for a solo recital at the Methodist Chapel.

Joel is a British violinist who performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. The 2025/26 season marks his professional solo debut with the London Mozart Players, and he was recently selected as a Tillett Debut Artist. He has worked with leading contemporary composers including Pēteris Vasks and Osvaldo Golijov, and trained with pedagogues such as Leonidas Kavakos, Alina Ibragimova and Daniel Rowland during his Artist Diploma at the Royal College of Music. In 2024 he was one of just 11 musicians worldwide to receive the London Symphony Orchestra’s Conservatoire Scholarship.

Joel has been described as “a truly remarkable violinist and musician who really holds the future of classical music in his hands” (Zsolt Bognár), and praised by his mentor Alina Ibragimova as “thoughtful, open-minded” with “a unique way of approaching everything he plays.”
