DESCRIPTION:Hatherleigh Players are performing a Murder Mystery play ‘Amdram is Murder’ on Friday 3rd July at 7.30pm in Hatherleigh Community Centre. Written by Karen Ince and directed by Alan Jones.  \n\n\n\nMembers of the Marchfield Amateur Drama (MAD) company are rehearsing a 1920s period murder mystery. On the surface – a typical village theatre\, but underneath – jealousies lurk and the group harbours someone capable of murder!Rehearsals are interrupted by the news of an unexpected death. Three eye-witnesses come forward with information.  \n\n\n\nCan you collect clues and work out whodunnit? SUMMARY:From Stone to Paint: A Day with Earth Pigments
DESCRIPTION:(With a lunch break – please bring your own lunch. Coffee\, tea and biscuits provided.)Group size: 12 \n\n\n\nThis one-day workshop\, led by Jessica Lennan\, is an introduction to working with earth pigments and making colour from the landscape. \n\n\n\nWe’ll begin the morning indoors\, looking at what earth pigments are and how to recognise and test for them. Then we’ll head out for a walk around Hatherleigh Moor Brook to see what we can find. \n\n\n\nIn the afternoon\, we’ll spend time grinding stones into pigment and turning that into watercolour paint. It’s a slow\, hands-on process. By the end of the day\, you’ll leave with your own handmade watercolour paint from the place itself. \n\n\n\nAll tools and paper are provided. You’re very welcome to bring a sketchbook or your own paper as well.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Jessica Lennan \n\n\n\nJessica Lennan is a photographer and artist based on the edge of Dartmoor. Her work explores place and material processes\, often combining photography with pigments made from stones collected on site. She is interested in slow\, tactile ways of understanding place and in the relationship between image and material. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue

DESCRIPTION:As part of the 2026 exhibition Small is Mighty — a celebration of postcards and small-but-splendid artworks\, you’re invited to create a piece that could feature in the show. \n\n\n\nAhead of the exhibition weekend\, Hatherleigh Artist and ‘Free Range Art’ Teacher\, Netty Holwill will be running a ‘Landmarks in Lino’ workshop. During this hands-on session\, you’ll design\, carve and print your own lino-cut artwork inspired by iconic landmarks. The finished prints will then be framed and displayed as part of the Small is Mighty exhibition. You will then be able to collect it from The Pottery after Hatherleigh Festival.  \n\n\n\nTurn something iconic and instantly recognisable into a hand-carved\, hand-printed graphic print. Choose from a selection of images and we will guide you through the rest. All materials provided.  \n\n\n\nAge 15+
