Welcome to the Hatherleigh Festival Website Hatherleigh Festival is a four day Festival which takes place annually over the second weekend in July. The Festival hosts a vibrant and diverse programme of events from every field of the arts. We both promote local talent and endeavour to bring to our corner of rural Devon, exciting artists and performers from all over the world. It has fast become a major event in the local calendar. Performances and artists have included : The Black Eagles (Tanzanian acrobats), Skate Naked, Comedy evenings with Noel fielding, Jeremy Hardy, Ian Stone and Richard Ayoade, an evening with(whispering) Bob Harris with singer Thea Gilmour, Black Umfolosi, Miracle Theatre, exhibitions from; Ken Sprague, Matt Chivers, Dominic Welch, Tom Karen and John Butler to name a few… The Festival was founded in 1995 by liz Aylmer and her partner Jenny Stock from Hatherleigh Pottery and their friends. Eight years ago a Committee was formed and the Festival has since been Coordinated by Claire Gladstone with a dedicated team of Committee members and many Festival volunteers. ‘Hatherleigh Festival is a really big, little Festival’, with a wonderful atmosphere, come and see for yourself.
