Welcome to the Hatherleigh Festival Website Hatherleigh Festival 2008 brings you another fantastic line up of events, performances and exhibitions. The worlds only cling film escape, juggling with knives whilst drinking a pint and plenty of gags feature in 'Variety By the Moor', where top comic acts come together for a Thursday evening of laughter. The Friday night 'International Dance Revue' premieres a diverse collection of stunning dance performances from the avante garde to Classical. With accompanying workshops to experience classical Indian, contemporary, creative, tap and Modern Ballroom, dancing has never been so accessible, or so much fun. The Miracle Theatre will bring their brilliant new production 'Jason', on Sunday, plundering the riches of Greek mythology with tragic and very funny consequences. The ridiculous comic routine of Bruce Airhead features on Saturday evening and is followed by local rockers Re- evolvin' Door. Exhibitions include quirky Ceramicist Lucia Yonge, Sally Vergettes beautiful weavings, April Doubledays gorgeous ethical jewellery and the sublime photographic canvases of Dave Green(who will also be giving an illustrated talk), together with Jo Seccombe and Lucy Turmaine at the Salar Gallery. There are many workshops including junk collage and animation workshops for children, a Wren Trust family workhop, sugarcraft and painting a canvas in a day. Newly signed band Tin soldiers play at the Festival just days before the release of their new single '24 Hours', whilst Saturday evening showcases the talented German violinist Sara Deborah Struntz.
