A fantastic evening of entertainment at the Community Centre. The Hatherleigh History Society WWI Project brings to a conclusion the ‘Commemorations’ with a fitting tribute to the ‘Peace Celebrations’ held by the townsfolk of Hatherleigh in 1919.
Hatherleigh Players and the School Choir combine to act and sing in a short play depicting some of the events that took place. There will be songs from acclaimed folk artist Jim Causley and a great selection of music from the Hatherleigh Silver Band. We are very pleased that Sir Michael Morpurgo will also be part of the concert, reading from one of his books and talking about his work
