The exhibition in Old Schools will be a joint one with Beaford Arts “Celebrate Your Heritage” with photographs and an audio recording of a play by Alan Lane who collected stories told by local Devon people, as well as oral histories from those here in Hatherleigh who have been interviewed for Beaford.
With the WWI Project research now completed, the other part of the exhibition in Old Schools will be a chance to look at a record of the lives of the families in Hatherleigh before, during and after this period. The records show the movement around the town and neighbouring villages for work, marriages between families, the churches, shops and businesses and societies that were an integral part of daily life.
