Chilli-Skate Festival

Not long to go now before Hatherleigh Festival puts on the event of the year!

Saturday 17th September starting at noon and finishing late!

Fun Run, Skate Jam, Craft Tent, Pinata Workshops, Chilli Festival, Music, BBQ, Bar and more!

We’re combining the very enjoyable Chilli Festival with the successful Festival Skate Jam that ran last year to make the Chilli-Skate Festival and if that was enough we’re proud to co-host the Hatherleigh Fun Run too! Join us for a day and evening of family fun at Island Park and get involved. We have Artist Tom Hyde who will be leading a Community Art project. There will be a craft tent, piñata workshop along with activities for all ages and, of course, the Fun Run and Skate Jam.

Bar and BBQ open all day and evening from noon with the Skate Jam kicking off around 2pm followed by the Chilli Festival at around 5pm. After the fun and games of the Chilli tasting and the Chilli Chow Down Competition we crack open the piñatas and turn the music up for an evening of fun and dance. The entries to the Sheep Ahoy Competition will also be on display (see our Facebook page for more on this) and you can cast your vote on who should win.

Registrations for the Fun Run open at 12pm with our Runs starting from 12.30pm.

What’s the Chilli Festival I hear you ask?

Local establishments will serve you the best tasting chilli-con-carne in town and all you have to do is tuck in, chow down and decide who you think should be crowned “Hatherleigh Chilli Festival 2016 – Chilli-con-carne Champion” join us for an afternoon and evening of unrivalled revelry for the whole family with music, skating and great tasting food. Why not enter our Chilli-chow-down Challenge? Eat the most chillies and you could go home with a trophy and the title “Hatherleigh Chilli Festival 2016 – Chilli Chow Down Champion”. If you would like to cook a chilli-con-carne then do get in touch for details (as we have a couple of spaces left) on .

Regardless of weather we will be at Island Park on Saturday 17th September. Come down and enjoy the craic!

Put the date in your diary and we look forward to seeing you there.
